Google Blogger Updates
As of December 2008 the mass coolness of some of the Google blogger Updates is quite staggering. You can now import and export to and from your Google Blogspot blog :) Wooooot! to Google :)
Merge 2 or more blogs together into one, move individual posts from blog to blog, cross publish your posts on multiple blogs, or transfer large batches of posts from one blog to another with a single click :) Neato! Back up your blogs to your own storage or hard drive and transfer content to and from other blogging platforms as well. Just go to the Settings Basic tab of your Blogger once you are logged in.
Mobile Blogging is fairly new as well and the tutorial on Blogger Buzz explains it all.
The newest gadgets (widgets for your sidebar) at Blogspot are the Blog List (which Rocks!) it allows you to import your Google Reader which acts as a live refresher for your blog (much like adding fresh content). Display a list of other Bloggers that follow your blog with the Followers Gadget :) Add a slide show from Picasa, Flickr, Photobucket, or other slide show site from a keyword or album name with an option to open the link in a new window so your visitors can easily get back to your blog. The new subscription Link is brilliant. You no longer have to rely on sites like FeedBurner to get a subscription going from your blog :)
These listed were only some of the Basic Sidebar additions to Blogspot :) Click on the Add Gadget link in your Layout area and see some of the categories as well for things like search for widgets, News, Tools, Communication, Finance, Sports, and more.
The new Reactions addition is also brilliant :) Locate this new addition by viewing your Layout page and clicking on Layouts Area, Page Elements, Edit in the Blog Posts Element, then check the box next to Reactions and change the default Reactions if you wish :) You will need to change from Classic Template to Layout to use reactions.
Picasa for Mac and Picasa Movie editing is also exciting news.
Don't forget to subscribe to sites like Google Buzz and Google's Official Blogsite here at Blogger :)

Google Me Custom Searches
A newness to the Google Custom Searches, where you can actually create an in site or on topic special search engine customized for you, your special interest group, your business, non profit, Government, or Educational group.
You can select certain sites to add your search engine or keywords to only search for these. This is real handy for Education sites especially to block certain sites from a search session.
